Accepted definitions of body image:

"Body image is how we perceive our bodies: the way we think they look and how we feel about it. It is what we see when look in the mirror, and what we think others see when they look at us. Body image is not just about body size; it includes our whole appearance: how we move; how our voices sound; the way we stand; our smiles."[3]
"Body image is the subjective level of contentment with one's appearance and is measured by determining discrepancy between actual and ideal weight and attitudes regarding level of satisfaction with appearance."[4]
