The Georgia Tech Student Policy on Sexual Harassment and Sexual Misconduct states that the Institute prohibits sexual harassment and sexual misconduct. Actions, which result in charges of sexual harassment or sexual misconduct under this policy, do not preclude civil and/or criminal liability under state law. What is Rape?
Rape is the act of sexual intercourse without the consent of one of the parties involved.

What is Sexual Assault?
Sexual misconduct is defined as sexual contact without consent by an acquaintance or a stranger and includes but is not limited to: intentional touching without consent, either of the victim or when the victim is forced to touch, directly or through clothing, another person's genitals, breasts, groin, thighs, or buttocks. What is Sexual Harassment?
Sexual harassment is unwelcome sexual advances, requests for sexual favors, or other verbal or physical conduct of a sexual nature. Both men and women may be the initiators or victims of sexual harassment.

Sexual harassment can occur in many different contexts, and sometimes it is difficult for students to determine if the "uncomfortable situation" they are currently in or have experienced is an incident of sexual harassment. If you think you are being sexually harassed, the Women's Resource Center can provide confidential assistance to help address the situation and serve as an advocate if you choose to report the harassment.

How do I file a complaint?
Rape, sexual assault and sexual harassment are in violation with the Georgia Tech Student Policy on Sexual Harassment and Sexual Misconduct. You may choose to talk confidentially with the Office of the Dean of Students for detailed information about the process of reporting before making a decision to report the assault or harassment. At your request, the Women's Resource Center will provide an advocate toe assist and support you during the process. A WRC advocate is also willing to accompany you to report the crime to the Georgia Tech Police Department.

What is Domestic Violence?
Domestic violence and emotional abuse are behaviors used by one person in a relationship to control the other. Partners may be roommates, dating, living together, or separated; married or unmarried; heterosexual, gay, or lesbian. Violence can be criminal and includes physical assault(hitting, pushing, shoving, etc.), sexual abuse (unwanted or forced sexual activity) and stalking. Emotional, psychological and financial abused are other forms of domestic violence and can lead to criminal violence.

Examples of domestic violence include: Your partner or roommate constantly keeps track of your time, acts jealous and possessive, discourages your relationship with family and friends, prevents or discourages you from working, interacting with friends or attending school, constantly criticizes or belittles you, humiliates you in front of others, destroys or takes your personal property/sentimental items, threatens to hurt you or your children, pushes, hits, slaps, punches, kicks or bites you, or sexually assaults you.

What is Stalking?
Stalking is when a person is afraid or concerned for his/her safety because he/she has been repeatedly followed or spied on watched from afar waited for outside or inside the places he/she goes, such as residence hall, classes, or work, received unsolicited phone calls , sent unsolicited e-mails, IM messages or letters.
