Asian Women's Community Circle: Model Minority Pressures

Thursday, October 24, 2019 - 6:30pm to 7:30pm

Join us for an in-depth dialogue as we explore the impact of model minority pressures on Asian Women. The stereotype of Asian culture being hard-wired for success creates a dangerous "model minority" image that can devastate Asian and Asian American women who don't meet unrealistic expectations. Model stereotyping can be just as damaging to one's self-esteem as negative stereotyping.
